Can I Use Administrative Tools Such as Intune to Roll Out AI Producer Studio to Multiple Devices?

Yes, Intune and similar solutions can be used to perform an unattended installation of AI Producer Studio. Note, however, that registration of the license must be done by the user when running the application; this cannot be done as part of the installation.

Silent installation requires ACCEPTEULA=1 on the command line.

Controlling shortcuts in an unattended install

Two installer properties control whether AI Producer Studio creates shortcuts, so you can decide this for a managed rollout instead of leaving it to the person at the device:

  • CREATEDESKTOPSHORTCUT sets whether a shortcut is created on the Windows desktop. 1 creates it, 0 does not.
  • CREATESTARTMENUSHORTCUT sets whether a shortcut is created in the Start menu. 1 creates it, 0 does not.

Only 0 and 1 are accepted. Any other value fails the installer's validation check, and the installation does not proceed. The two properties are independent, so you can create one shortcut without the other.

If you leave a property out, a new installation creates that shortcut. On an upgrade, the device keeps whatever it already had.

Examples

# New installation, using the defaults
msiexec /i AIProducerStudio.msi

# Create both shortcuts explicitly
msiexec /i AIProducerStudio.msi CREATEDESKTOPSHORTCUT=1 CREATESTARTMENUSHORTCUT=1

# Silent installation with no desktop shortcut
msiexec /i AIProducerStudio.msi /qn ACCEPTEULA=1 CREATEDESKTOPSHORTCUT=0

# Keep the desktop shortcut but omit the Start menu shortcut
msiexec /i AIProducerStudio.msi CREATEDESKTOPSHORTCUT=1 CREATESTARTMENUSHORTCUT=0

If a deployment creates no shortcuts, the application is still installed and will run; it simply has no icon. Windows search will usually still find it.
